Amazon says it plans to bring more major games to Luna for Prime members on their release dates, following the cloud service’s first such launch with Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The company shared the plan in an anniversary post published Oct. 23, one year after Luna’s relaunch. It did not name upcoming games or provide a release schedule. [1] [2]

A first day-and-date release

Amazon said Galactic Racer arrived on Luna alongside its worldwide release earlier in October. Its launch announcement said Prime members in eligible regions could play the single-player campaign through Luna on the same day as other platforms. The anniversary post described it as Luna’s first day-and-date launch and said it was included at no additional cost for Prime members. [1] [3]

Amazon’s next-step statement is broad: it plans more major day-and-date releases but has not disclosed titles, publisher agreements or how many games it expects to add. That makes the announcement a signal of intent rather than a slate reveal. [1]

Prime as a cloud-gaming channel

Jeff Gattis, Amazon’s general manager of Gaming, said Luna’s user base has grown fivefold since its relaunch. Amazon did not provide an absolute user count or a methodology for the comparison. The Verge independently reported the growth claim and planned releases, attributing the figure to Gattis and linking to Amazon’s announcement. [1] [2]

Amazon also says Luna is included with Prime at no additional cost and is available through the Prime Video app on Fire TVs in the United States and United Kingdom. The update does not say the gaming service is available through Prime Video on every device or in every country. [1]

Luna’s strategy will depend on which publishers and games Amazon can secure for same-day streaming, and whether future releases match the scale of Galactic Racer. The company has not yet supplied those details. [1]
